James Bond Quantum of Solace (2008)
Quantum of Solace is a James Bond movie that was released in 2008 as the 22nd film in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions. Directed by Marc Forster and written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Paul Haggis, the film stars Daniel Craig as James Bond, who teams up with Camille Montes (played by Olga Kurylenko) to prevent Dominic Greene (played by Mathieu Amalric) from staging a coup d’état in Bolivia in order to access the country’s natural resources.
After the success of Casino Royale, the plan for a second Bond film featuring Daniel Craig was underway. The film went through a number of changes, including director and screenplay changes, before finally being released in 2008. Quantum of Solace was shot in locations such as Mexico, Panama, Chile, Italy, Austria, and Wales, with interior sets filmed at Pinewood Studios. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Craig’s performance and the action sequences, but felt it was inferior to its predecessor, Casino Royale.
In Quantum of Solace, James Bond is on a mission to stop Dominic Greene and his organization, Quantum, from staging a coup in Bolivia. He is joined by Camille Montes, who has a personal vendetta against Greene, and together they stop Greene’s plan to control Bolivia’s natural resources. Bond also tracks down Vesper Lynd’s former lover, Yusef Kabira, who is responsible for her death. In the end, Bond is back in the service of MI6 and ready for his next mission.
