“Dr. No” is the first James Bond film in the franchise and was released in 1962. The film stars Sean Connery as James Bond and Ursula Andress as Bond girl Honey Ryder. In the film, Bond is sent to Jamaica to investigate the disappearance of a fellow British agent. He discovers that the missing agent was on the trail of a mad scientist named Dr. No, who is plotting to disrupt the American space program by sabotaging their missile launches. Bond teams up with Ryder and faces off against Dr. No and his henchmen, ultimately stopping their evil plans and saving the day. The film is considered a classic and set the tone for the entire Bond franchise, introducing many of the elements that would become iconic in future Bond films, including fast-paced action, exotic locations, and larger-than-life villains.
